At Tees Maritime, we’re building more than just a cluster – we’re building a movement. One that champions collaboration, develops talent, and creates real opportunities for people right here in Teesside.

That’s why we’re incredibly proud to welcome the High Tide Foundation as an honorary member of the cluster.

High Tide has long been a driving force in connecting young people with the world of work, particularly in industries that sit right on their doorstep but can often feel out of reach. Their work has opened eyes, built confidence, and helped shape futures, and their mission aligns perfectly with our own.

As part of our commitment to supporting the next generation, we’re pledging 10% of all Tees Maritime membership fees directly to High Tide, to help expand their incredible work and reach even more young people across the region.

But we’re not stopping there.

We’re also working closely together to deliver three inspiring programmes this summer that will give students first-hand insight into the careers, challenges, and innovations shaping our sector:

Business Sector Week – Kicking off 16th June
A group of local students will spend the week exploring what it takes to launch a business in the maritime sector. From finance and operations to recruitment and marketing, they’ll visit five different organisations, hear from experts, and work together to build their own maritime business concept.

Engineering Sector Week – Launching 23rd June
Young people with a passion for engineering will tour five local firms, gaining a deeper understanding of the varied roles within the sector. Along the way, they’ll explore how engineering is evolving to meet the demands of a more sustainable future.

Sustainability Week – Starting 30th June
Students will dive into the world of green innovation – learning about hydrogen, carbon capture, and the cleaner energy sources set to shape our region’s economy and employment landscape for years to come.

These are exactly the kinds of opportunities that turn curiosity into ambition – and ambition into action.
